Edenvale Pink Moscato

Introducing the new Edenvale Pink Moscato

Moscato is a style of wine made from muscat grapes and is world-famous for its sweet flavours of peach and orange blossom. With the introduction of our new Pink Moscato, let’s dig into the origins of Moscato, including how it made its way to Australian shores nearly 200 years ago, and how and when to enjoy it.

Where is Moscato from?

Muscat grapes have been around for many years and are thought to have originated in Greece, the Middle East, or even in ancient Egypt. However, the traditional home of Moscato is in Asti in Italy’s Piedmont region, where it has been made since the early 13th Century, making it possibly the oldest grape variety in continual common use.

Although it originates in Italy, muscat now grows in wine regions all over the world. It is a versatile grape and can therefore be grown in many climates, but it truly thrives in France, Spain, and Italy. The muscat varietal is also grown in Australia,

[Moscato] has been made since the early 13th Century, making it possibly the oldest grape variety in continual common use.

Moscato first came to Australia way back in 1832 as part of the father of Australian viticulture, James Busby’s collection. Since that time, cuttings have also come from other sources, including Italy and South Africa.

What to expect from Edenvale Pink Moscato?

Edenvale’s Pink Moscato is naturally sweet, bubbly, and completely delicious. It has delicate flavours of rose petal and Turkish delight, which are lifted on the palate by a light fizz.

Proudly made from only the best selected south eastern Australian wine grapes, this premium alcohol removed wine contains less than 0.5 per cent alcohol by volume, well below the international standard for non-intoxicating beverages, and a level similar to that found in natural fruit juices.

While it’s a great everyday wine, because of its striking pink colour and fizz it is also a great celebratory drink for birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and more.

What temperature should it be served at?

Frizzante sweet wines like our Pink Moscato are best enjoyed when well chilled.

What foods match Pink Moscato?

Because of its sweetness, Pink Moscato is often served as a dessert wine. But it can also be enjoyed with spicy, salty, bitter and even sour foods. It’s a great match for salty snacks, creamy pasta dishes and sweet strawberry desserts.

Where can I buy it?

Edenvale Pink Moscato is available to buy in store from Sans Drinks, Dan Murphy’s, Brunswick Aces, soon CraftZero and through our online store. Why not try it today?
